Classes

Classes combine speech and drama, in a happy and informal atmosphere, and involve drama games, mime and improvisation, with an emphasis on working together in groups. This encourages the development of each child’s inherent imaginative and creative qualities.

Students are able to build self-confidence and self-esteem. They benefit from team-work and learn to communicate effectively with each other. Technical skills and artistry are achieved as they continue to express their own individual characteristics and personalities.

Speech training includes voice production and communication, placing emphasis on clear articulation and diction. Pupils may progress to LAMDA examinations in Speaking Verse and Prose, Public Speaking and Acting, together with performing in Arts Festivals and presentations.

Private Lessons

Private tuition is particularly appropriate for those who wish to concentrate on developing vocal and performance skills, while progressing swiftly towards higher level examinations. Lessons shared between two are a good idea, giving the benefits of private tuition at a lower cost.

A short course of shared private lessons immediately prior to LAMDA examinations and Arts Festivals is usually recommended.
